Socialnews.biz is another aggregation site that is business oriented. Certain parts are digg like, but it is described as a "web 3.0" business reader. From their about page - http://socialnews.biz/about

After submitting 2-3 articles to tipd - both related to business, my IP was banned without even a warning! I'm a regular user of digg, stumbleupon, reddit and various other sites and this is the FIRST time this has happened. What's worse is that there's not even a warning system in place. I can't even go to the site because I just get a white screen with "your ip has been banned".

I emailed Tamar (tip'd moderator) and he said warning users "is not an efficient use of time for moderators". He refused to unban my IP even after apologizing to him if one of my 2-3 posts submitted were somehow off-topic. I told him I just want to read the site and promise not to submit, he still refused.

Yet their FAQ reads "The Tip'd staff is committed to being an open community, and avoiding the ban first, ask questions later attitude that seems to permeate so many other social media sites."

Very hypocritical.

I've been using tipd.com for the last 3 months and I like it very much. I haven't experienced issues the other users described. I assume YMMV - depending on how do you use the site.

I just had a horrible experience with tipd.com. I am so disappointed. I signed up and added two of my marketing for small business articles.

When you log on to tipd.com it says:
"Welcome to Tip’d, a social media site for finance, investing, and business topics. Want to participate?"

My topics were clearly busienss topics and I added them to the entrepreneur category because they were small business marketing topics. Not 24 hours later my account was shut-off and I was banned. My post were removed and no one gave me an explanation what so ever. I contacted them and this is the response I got:

"Your content is marketing related. Tipd is about financial news which means investing and stocks. Further, since you signed up again, be advised that your account will be irrevocably banned again."

I would say tipd.com is anything but friendly!

I've been using Tip'd have really liked it, although the site functions slowly. I hope that gets fixed with 1.0.
