I kept seeing people that I follow and admire tweet about removing your Twitter feed from your Facebook because (they feel) its just one big duplicate Twitter site. I have thought there is confusion sometimes myself, but for the most part I am never on Facebook, but I have lots of friends and people who only check up on Facebook. I usually just get annoyed at people responding to my Twitter updates on Facebook when I would rather then respond on Twitter.

Kenny Hyder Hates Twitter on Facbook
With all that said; I am at a loss because I want those people (on Facbook that are not using Twitter) to see what I am up to, but I do not want to have to go and update two “status” places. That could get annoying real quick (why I no longer Plurk).

A few days ago I wrote a blog post about the aftermath of Twitter promotions. The premise of the article being that what happens after your original Tweet can be any body’s guess.
If you follow this blog, you know that I’m a big NBA fan and am always looking for ways to tie basketball into my posts. So, I need to give a big thanks to Mr. Charlie Villanueva for being the first NBA player to be caught Tweeting during a professional game!
Charlie plays for the Milwaukee Bucks, which is a franchise that is currently fighting for the last of 8 playoff spots in the Eastern conference. Charlie also plays for a notoriously hard-nosed coach, Mr. Scott Skiles, who is the only point guard in history to ever get into a fight with @THE_REAL_SHAQ. (Literally Skiles at 6′ 2″ and 180 lbs tried to tangle with 7′ 1″ and 325 lbs Shaq). Apparently, Skiles reamed Charlie pretty good for his lack of discretion in jumping on Twitter during a game! I guess Charlie should consider himself lucky not to have been playing for Jerry Sloan. Jerry might have kicked him off the team or a few days.

Its no secret that I love Twitter, and can’t live without it (in fact – feel free to follow me). Even other people, like I found on Twitter today, share my addiction of Twitter and may need Twitter interventions:

Are You Addicted To Twitter?
I went on to answer @SEOAly that it was not possible because I had tried several times, and failed. It leads me to ask the question though about what kind of chatter you are monitoring Twitter for? I love following other people in my industry, and it helps me find and stay on top of all that is going on. This is one of just many uses I have for Twitter. Are you using Twitter search as a part of your online reputation management? I am not going to go off and say its the next big search engine or anything silly like that, but are you using it to see what things people are saying about you and your business?

The other day I was sitting in a meeting with a group of friends. We were discussing Twitter and how it could be used to run promotions on the internet. This meeting included myself, Andrew, and a number of other well established business owners and marketing consultants. This discussion prompted the following blog post.
A Twitter Case Study — Picture This Scenario:

You’re hired to manage a social media campaign for a client – a family fun center with several locations. You decide to test the social media waters with Twitter. So you recommend the following:
Send out a message via the family fun center Twitter account, tweeting something like:
“TODAY ONLY (3/5/09) FREE entry to skate rink and free skate rental. Please RT.”

Just do a tweet with the word Skittles in it, (LOL) even if the link will only last for about two seconds … Ok, so that part of this post is a little bait and joke, but Twitter is venturing into the world of social media and I want to know what your thoughts are about it?
I woke up this morning to Skittles Twitter explosion buzz. Skittles.com has changed its home page to nothing more then a Twitter search for “Skittles” and a little navigation graphic for the rest of their site. They even have a friends page that redirects to their Facebook friends page. Here is the screenshot I took of my Twitter comment showing up on the home page of Skittles – So technically I had a PR 5 link from Skittles … haha – because its the Twitter search, and people are buzzing so much about this today – in about 10 min my tweet was more then 10 pages deep. Still funny though.

Phoenix Suns fan
My close friends know that I have always been a big Phoenix Suns fan. It is hard not to like an organization that consistently puts a winning team on the floor and has always had some of the most likable guys in the league: Kevin Johnson, “Thunder” Dan Majerle, Jeff “Horny” Hornacek, Charles Barkley, Steve Nash, Shawn Marion, and Shaquille Oneal, just to name a few.
Suns are now using Social Media
This year the Suns have given me one more reason to brag – they have actively incorporated social media into their company marketing strategy. Many of you know that Shaq’s on Twitter, but did you also know that the Suns have hired a full time Director of Digital Media? Amy Martin, known by Tweeps as @PhoenixSunsGirl, has the full time responsibility of making sure that the Suns are successfully using social media. Amy is the lady responsible for helping Shaq work on his Twitter game. So all of you Tweeps who follow Shaq (currently more than 33,000 of you) can thank Ms. Martin for the opportunity to connect with Shaq online.

If you saw my last post about me suspecting Twitter was broken, than you’ll understand this post title. I think I got a personal confirmation that Twitter is broken for sure, or at least I’d like to think that it was a personal confirmation.
I was trying to post a reply tweet and after clicking Update, nothing was happening…so I entered this tweet and it posted:
Trying to reply to a tweet, but Twitter won’t let me…strange.
And, then the very next thing I saw was this page with it’s own personalized note to me. Man, do I get a prize or something for noticing the Twitter problem? Maybe more people will just follow me, @atraine.

I have been using Twitter pretty heavily for the past 90 days and have started to catch the vision of how me Tweeting can help me and DSM in the big picture. My partner Mat Siltala (@matt_siltala) has been on Twitter for about 2 years now and really has been encouraging me to use it more. Overall, it’s been golden, but the last week or so I have run into this screen a lot:

What’s up with that? I guess Twitter is getting too popular for their own good…time to upgrade huh? Anyone else been getting this? Thoughts?
If you are on Twitter, give me a follow: @atraine. Thanks.

Tuesday morning I had the opportunity to meet with a company regarding providing search engine optimization services to them. This is a company that is on the verge of being an Inc. 500 company and I was meeting with the CEO, VP of Marketing, and VP of Development. About 45 min. into the meeting the CEO said, “So how do we get this going?” and my reply to him was something along the lines of, “If we begin working together we will start with, etc. etc.” and went on to explain our process to him. Roughly 10 min. later the CEO stood up and basically said,
I have to get running, so you guys take care of the details and lets move forward, but I have one piece of advice for you, say “when” we begin working with you instead of “if” we begin working with you. We then shook hands and he left the board room.
