A Favorite Thanksgiving and Christmas Recipe – Cranberry Waldorf Salad
I’m sitting here watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with my family while preparing a few things for the meal tonight…and I had a thought and acted on it.
I wanted to take this opportunity to wish everyone of our clients, and readers and followers a Happy Thanksgiving. I am truly thankful for the things I have in my life and for all that I have been blessed with. I hope and wish for the best for each of you this holiday season!
Here is one of my favorite holiday recipes that I enjoy every Thanksgiving and Christmas. Hope you like it.
Cranberry Waldorf Salad
2 Cups cranberries (fresh, whole)
3 Cups miniature marshmallows
3/4 Cup sugar
2 Cups diced apples
1 Cup seedless grapes (halved)
1/2 Cup walnuts, chopped
1/4 tsp. salt
1 Cup whipped cream, whipped
Finely chop cranberries in food processor. Mix with sugar and marshmallows. Let stand overnight in refrigerator. Add apples, grapes, walnuts, and whipped cream. Stir and fluff. Makes 8-10 servings.
Note: The acid in the cranberries partially dissolves the marshmallows overnight, making a very creamy texture.

Lovely recipe, so seasonal. Cranberries seem to get forgotten for most of the year, they should be used on cooking more in my opinion. Small but powerful little fruits.

Just wanted you to know , this is the best recipe yet! My mother in law found the recipe on the back of an Ocean Spray bag of cranberries in the 70′s. Believe it or not they don’t list it on there recipe site! We have been enjoying it at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter for close to 40 yrs… A family favorite..now Grandma Lee is gone but we all remember how great this salad was and still is….Happy Holidays!!
